The Boy on Top of the Mountain by John Boyne - this is the same author as 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas'

Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark Sullivan - this story is about a driver for the Nazi in Italy

The Forgotten Highlander by George Brown - this is set in the war in south Asia

The Maze Runner by James Dashner - this is a science fiction book

The Story of Dr Dolittle by Hugh lofting - this is a great book if you like animals

Fortnite by Robby Stinding

Machine Gunners by Robert Westfall - this is about a boy who collects old war memorabilia

Matilda by Roald Dahl - a timeless favourite with all our boys!

Grandpa's Great Escape - another great book by David Walliams

Theodore Boone - a series by the famous author John Grisham, about a 13-year-old detective

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Waiting for Anya - by the renowned author Michael Morpurgo, this is set during World War 2

Tom Gates by Liz Pichon - this is a bit like a diary and is easy to relate to

Cherub by Robert Muchmore - this is about  children's spy agency

Wonder by R.J. Palacio -this is the touching story of a boy with a facial deformity

Super Amazing Diary of a Pig by Emer Stump - this is very funny

The Amazing World of Norm by Jonathan Meres - this is another humorous book

Animal Farm by George Orwell - this is a classic, based on political characters

Alex Cross: Cross Fire by James Patterson - detective/crime series
